Course map
The official course of the Dresdner Kleinwort Frankfurt Marathon 2008 will be published, if the course is approved.
The course of 2008 will be similar to the course of 2007.
In 2007 the Kenyan runner Wilfried Kigan achieved a time of 2:07:58, course record and as the first of all starters in Frankfurt three victories in a row. After Berlin and Hamburg Frankfurt is the third fastest Marathon in Germany.The women`s course record is currently 2:25.12, run by the Russian runner Alevtina Biktimirova.
The track basically takes course on wide main roads. Its very even, because between the lowest point (89,4 meters above sea level) and the highest point (117,2 meters above sea level) there is only a hight difference of 27,8 meters spread over the length of 42195 meters.
The course 2007
first part of the course leads the runners through the city centre of Frankfurt with its fascinating skyline, then to the district of Sachsenhausen, towards the residential area of Höchst and back along the Mainzer Landstraße through the city centre and the trade fair tower into the 'Festhalle' with its red carpet.
