The activities in the field of sustainable sporting events already started in 2005 when sustainability was not yet “en vogue”. The efforts are characterised by close cooperation with the “Rhine-Main Environmental Forum” and the Environmental Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main.<\/p>\n

The declared goal? A largely sustainable Mainova Frankfurt Marathon, as well as the promotion of environmental protection at all sporting events.<\/p>\n

Already in 2014, the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon was awarded the “Green Award” for the world’s most environmentally friendly marathon by AIMS, the Association of International Road Running Organisers.<\/p>\n

Every year, the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon becomes a little greener – with its numerous environmentally and climate-friendly measures, the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon is a pioneer among running events.<\/p>\n

Runners can also contribute to a sustainable running event.
