A long, successful and eventful marathon weekend is behind us in Frankfurt. Valary Aiyabei achieved a brilliant win with a course record. Her 2:19:10 improved the best time by a woman in Frankfurt by 86 seconds and the running classic beside the River Main now has the seventh fastest women\u2019s course record of all time. Our runthskyline ambassador Katharina Steinruck, formerly Heinig, not only set a great personal best with 2:27:26 but also ran the Olympic qualifying time for Tokyo next year, finishing well inside the target of 2:29:30. Fast, flat and ripe for personal bests \u2013 the Frankfurt course has been known for this for years and this reputation was confirmed by the 38th<\/sup> edition. This applied to the elite athletes as well as the mass runners going for their own targets of personal bests. With over 27,000 participants in all the events and 10,553 marathon finishers the running classic beside the River Main confirmed its second place in the German marathon rankings behind Berlin. Dieter Otto, in charge of the Festhalle at the Frankfurt Expo, said: \u201cThe atmosphere in the Festhalle was unique. It was a fantastic event.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a fantastic weekend for the sport of running and the city of Frankfurt am Main. This was thanks to the commitment of many people, who love the sport of running and gave it their best effort. Today, two days after the event, we have already received 571 entry requests for the 2020 Mainova Frankfurt Marathon!<\/p>\n
