The Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV) is one of Germany’s largest transport associations. It coordinates and organizes regional bus and rail services across an area of approximately 14,000 square kilometers—roughly two-thirds of the state of Hesse. Approximately 5 million people live in the network area; if you include residents in the transitional fare zones, the figure rises to 6.7 million. The network was launched in 1995. Hesse Leads the Way as a Sports State

Sports are a fundamental part of active civic life in Hesse. Over two million people in Hesse participate in organized sports through clubs and associations, and an equal number are engaged in “recreational sports.” Of these, approximately 800,000 are children and adolescents, accounting for 40% of the total. But people over 60 are active as well: 15% of them participate in sports through clubs. This percentage continues to grow. This shows that sports are relevant to a large portion of the population in Hesse. Sports are one of the most important and successful social organizations. It is therefore an important task for the state government to strengthen and promote sports in all their facets.

DRK – We’re here for you when things don’t go as planned

The volunteers of the German Red Cross are on standby during your marathon to help you, your friends, and your family whenever you need them.

On race day, 140 volunteers, 10 first-aid stations, 12 ambulances, and two emergency medical vehicles will be available along the course to provide care. The four emergency physicians and the experienced volunteers provide this service on a voluntary basis. As you can see, the last Sunday in October is a very long day—and not just for you. We’re right by your side!

The Frankfurt Red Cross has 150 full-time and 350 volunteer staff members and funds most of its operations through membership dues and donations. In addition to traditional areas of work such as emergency medical services, patient transport, blood donation, youth work, and transportation services, the DRK is also involved in social work.

The DRK wishes all participants a successful race and hopes to welcome you safely at the finish line.
