The 35th edition the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon was again an special running experience on the 30th of October, 2016. Once again, like every year, the flat course has ensured many new best times for elite and recreational athletes, as well as for runners between times from 3 to 6 hours. The course runs by the Opernplatz and past the high-rises – the manificent Frankfurt skyline is always the focus of attention.
Stages and bands, moderators and music contribute for an exciting atmosphere by Frankfurts biggest street festival of the year. Also included, is the affordable-pricing of the event for the runners, and a short distance between the start, the finish and the marathonmall. For many, the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon on the last Sunday in October is the biggest event for the season’s end.
Once again, the 29th of October 2017 will guide the successful participants at the Festhallte over the the red carpet to the finish line and help them reach their of their dream. Frankfurt’s „Gudd Stubb“,  probably hosts the most atmospheric finish line in the world. The atmosphere bubbles over,when the fastest runners sprint over the finish line. That’s already a tradition. There is hardly anybody with a runner’s heart, who could withstand the magic and the great emotions that these moments brings at the Festhalle. For the 7th time in row the classic race at the exchange metropolis, was awarded with the with the label „Gold Road Race“, for the great organisation, from the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF). Best conditions to continue the success story of the last years.
In 2016 worldwide only 28 marathons were  awarded with the highest IAAF-Award, in Germany only the BMW Berlin Marathon in addition to the race in Frankfurt. Only the proven philosophy of Frankfurts race director Jo Schindler makes it possible for elite- and hobbyathletes to be give one stage. „We are a brand with world-class radiance, state-wide and regional accents.“ says Schindler. In Frankfurt,a symbiosis has long been found that is sustainable.
Already on Friday, the Marathonmall lures people in the Messehalle. The information and salesevents with the concentration on running sports is opened until Sunday-an El Dorado for the active. The best atmosphere dominates even during the Fattoria La Vialla Pasta Party am Samstag. One weekend in the year, the picture seen is, running shoes taking over the Messe and the Festhalle.
Frankfurt happens to be the greenest marathon in Germany.  The rating was rewarded to the organisers in the last few years because of their numerous innovative activities. The protection of the environment stands in the foreground with the concept of energie and c02 usuage during the event.
f you don’t trust yourself yet to run the full 42,195 kilometers distance, your can run in a 4-person relay team.
