Companions and helpmates
Sometimes they are your best companions getting you to a new personal best, motivators for tough moments or a calming force for those who tend to go faster than they should. Our pacemakers, again, functioned like clockwork. 24 of them guided runners of all levels through the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon with balloons displaying the finishing times from 2:59 hours to 5:59. These are very different people with a common passion for running and helping others to finish a marathon in their own time. Many of them finished in Frankfurt several times as pacemakers so when they meet each other again its always good cheers and laughs. They are volunteers but the many overwhelming thanks they get from runners is worth a lot.
